Tolerance of Upland Rice Genotypes from Deli Serdang North Sumatra to Drought Stress Condition

Drought is the main problem that often faced in upland rice cultivation dry land. Therefore, drought-tolerant varieties are needed, but until now, number very limited. It crucial to produce because Indonesia has a relatively sizeable land of 148 million ha. This study aimed obtain genotype tolerant drought with high productivity and can be developed research was then continued tolerance testing by giving water below field capacity greenhouse. factorial form using Split Plot Design, plot stress treatment consisting tree levels, namely availability water, water. The sub-plots were four genotypes from Deli Serdang North Sumatra Sialus, Arias, Silayur, Sirabut one variety for comparison Inpago11. observed variables included plant height, chlorophyll content, tillers, productive age flowering, harvest period, grain weight per clump, 100 grains. heaviest (FCW) caused significant decrease tillers clump extended flowering harvesting ages. Based on index criteria, it found Silayur more than other genotypes.
